Weight 0 checks are reported and never scored: blocking an AI training crawler is a licensing decision, not a defect, and a page without hreflang is not wrong. Every check, explained, with the HTML that passes it.
How to read the result
- Failures first, by weight. A weight-3 failure (no title, noindex, blocked crawlers, non-200 status) is a page that may not be in search at all. Fix those before anything else, and fix them in the template, because a template bug is on every page that uses it.
- Then warnings. A warning earns half its weight: a title that exists but runs past 60 characters, a description that will truncate, a canonical that points somewhere unexpected.
- Then the AI search section. Whether retrieval crawlers can fetch the page is scored; whether training crawlers can is only reported. The difference matters.
- Re-run after you fix. With an account, every run of the same page is stored, and the next one shows what regressed and what improved.
Questions
Is it actually free?
Yes. Three audits a day per connection, no account, no card. Every finding is shown in full. The written fix for each finding and the compiled fix prompt come with a free account, which adds 50 credits.
What does the audit check?
36 checks across technical, meta, content, links, social and AI search. Each carries a weight, so the score moves by what a problem actually costs you: a missing title costs three points of weight, a missing favicon half of one.
Does it need access to my site?
No. The engine fetches the public URL, robots.txt, sitemap and llms.txt over plain HTTP, exactly the way a search crawler does. Nothing to install, no OAuth.
Why is my score different from Lighthouse?
Lighthouse measures load performance in a simulated browser. This audit measures whether the page is crawlable, indexable, described correctly and reachable by AI answer engines. They overlap on one check (server response time) and otherwise measure different things.
Can I audit a whole site?
The free audit is one page. With an account, Site Crawl audits up to 100 pages from the sitemap and the links on every page, and reports orphans, duplicates, broken links and click depth across the site. 1 credit per page.
